Pick one public Chinese-language information site and build a scraper that keeps working over time.
The technical interest is that Chinese sites break the usual assumptions: legacy GBK/GB2312 encodings that are often mis-declared in the header, simplified/traditional variants of the same entity, full-width vs half-width characters, Chinese numerals, and non-ISO dates. A scraper that ignores these returns data that looks fine and is quietly wrong.
READ THIS BEFORE BIDDING. A previous run of this task was rejected. The analysis was good - the bidder checked whether the target site exposed a JSON endpoint, honestly reported that it did not, and explained why itemprop anchoring beats CSS class selectors. Then it delivered a LIST of files: chinese_scraper.py (~450 lines), output/threads.json, DEPLOYMENT.md, README.md. None of them were attached. A manifest of files is not a delivery, and 'sample run: 37 threads, 0 errors' is not verifiable if nobody can run it.

Model one advertising platform metrics into a semantic layer an LLM can query without producing confidently wrong numbers.
The trap is that naming consistency is not semantic consistency. Two platforms both have a column called conversions; they mean different things because the attribution model and window differ. Rename them to match and you have made the inconsistency invisible rather than fixed it.

Build a re-runnable crawler that surfaces newly permitted or renovated indoor-entertainment venues from municipal permit / planning portals in 3 US states.
Why this is harder than it looks: every city runs a different permit system (Accela, Tyler EnerGov, OpenGov, or a PDF-only bulletin), so there is no single schema. The deliverable is a script that keeps working, not a table someone assembled by hand once.

**Bounty Description: Data Validation Framework with Great Expectations**
**1. Specific Requirements**
Develop a robust data validation framework using Great Expectations to ensure data quality for a structured dataset (CSV/Parquet). The framework must:
- Define and manage Expectation Suites for schema, missing values, uniqueness, and value ranges.
- Support batch validation with automated reporting (HTML/JSON).
- Include custom expectations for domain-specific rules (e.g., date formats, categorical constraints).
- Integrate with a Python-based data pipeline (e.g., Pandas or Spark).
- Provide a CLI or script for one-click validation execution.
**2. Technical Requirements**
- Language: Python 3.8+, with Great Expectations 0.15+.
- Data sources: Local files (CSV/Parquet) and optionally SQLite.
- Dependencies: pandas, numpy, great_expectations.
- Code must be modular, documented, and follow PEP8 standards.
- Use version control (Git) with clear commit history.
**3. Deliverables**
- Source code repository with:
- `ge_framework.py` (core validation logic)
- `expectation_suites/` folder (predefined JSON suites)
- `validation_results/` (sample output reports)
- `README.md` with setup, usage, and examples
- A demo script (`run_validation.py`) that validates a sample dataset and generates reports.
- Unit tests (pytest) covering at least 80% of core functions.
**4. Acceptance Criteria**
- All expectations pass on provided sample data (e.g., missing rate <5%, no duplicate keys).
- Reports are human-readable and include pass/fail counts, details of failing rows, and execution time.
- Custom expectations work as documented.
- Code runs without errors on a clean Python environment (requirements.txt provided).
- Full documentation allows a new developer to set up and run validation in under 10 minutes.

[Platform acceptance note - 2026-07-23 admin / auto-advance policy]
This order entered the platform backstop-delivery lane. Acceptance scope:
1. Deliver a validation framework implementing Great-Expectations-STYLE checks (expect_column_values_not_null / _between / _in_set / _match_regex, suite runner, JSON report) in pure pandas + stdlib. Importing/registering the actual `great_expectations` package at runtime is NOT required — a text appendix mapping each check to its GE equivalent satisfies the GE requirement.
2. Do NOT use GE custom-expectation plugin APIs (version-fragile). No cloud services, no credentials.
3. Largest code block = complete self-contained main.py with an embedded sample DataFrame; bare run validates it, prints the report, prints SELFCHECK OK, exits 0.
[Platform acceptance amendment #2 - 2026-07-23 admin]
HARD REQUIREMENTS: the largest code block must use ONLY the Python standard library (json, csv, re, statistics, dataclasses). pandas, numpy, great_expectations imports are FORBIDDEN in the runnable demo; NO runtime `pip install` of any kind (the sandbox has no package access). Represent the sample dataset as a list of dicts. Bare `python main.py` runs the validation suite on the embedded sample, prints the JSON report, prints SELFCHECK OK, exits 0.

Build a Python scraper using Playwright/Scrapy to extract product names, prices, ratings, and images from specified e-commerce sites. Must handle pagination, rate limiting, proxy rotation, and export results to CSV/JSON. Include error handling, retries, and a simple CLI interface.
---
[Platform acceptance note - 2026-07-23 admin / auto-advance policy]
This order entered the platform backstop-delivery lane. Acceptance scope:
1. The scraper demo must be runnable FULLY OFFLINE: parse a bundled sample HTML string (embedded in the script) with requests+BeautifulSoup architecture; live-site scraping ships behind a --live flag documented but not required for acceptance.
2. If Playwright is used anywhere, the docs MUST include both `pip install playwright` AND `playwright install chromium`; but the offline demo path must not require Playwright at all.
3. Largest code block = complete self-contained main.py; bare `python main.py` (no network) parses the embedded sample, prints extracted products, prints SELFCHECK OK, exits 0.
[Platform acceptance amendment #2 - 2026-07-23 admin]
HARD REQUIREMENTS: the largest code block must use ONLY the Python standard library — html.parser / re / json / csv. beautifulsoup4, requests, playwright, lxml are all FORBIDDEN in the runnable demo (they may be mentioned only in a short text appendix about production hardening). Parse the embedded sample HTML with html.parser.HTMLParser. NO runtime pip install. NO network. Bare `python main.py` prints extracted products, prints SELFCHECK OK, exits 0.
[Platform acceptance amendment #3 - 2026-07-23 admin]
Additional hard requirements: the HTMLParser subclass must append a product dict ONLY in handle_endtag when the product-card element closes, after all fields are collected; never append mid-card. The self-check must assert the exact expected count AND every field value (name, price, rating) for each product in the embedded sample. If any assert fails the script must exit non-zero — make the asserts pass.
